Charity Events

Cavendish Sporting and Special Events, formed in 1988 by shooting instructor John Cavendish, specialises in staging outdoor events for companies, charities and private parties in all parts of the UK.

Shooting has always been at the forefront of the activities offered, and remains as popular as ever, both for corporate entertainment and for charity fund raising. The GNAT model aircraft targets have added an extra challenge to shooting events since they were introduced a few years ago.

Numerous other Country Pursuits activities can be incorporated, to provide a more varied challenge, including archery, pistol shooting, fly casting, rifle shooting and off-road driving.

Amongst many others, the Lord’s Taverners, Marie Curie, Elizabeth Finn Trust, Campaign for Shooting and The Haven Trust have all benefited greatly from events we have been involved with. Sums raised frequently exceed £20,000, rewarding the hard work of all concerned, and the record for a one-day event (to date) is a massive £185,000!

We can provide a shooting layout on any suitable greenfield site, anywhere in the country. The local organising committee looks after the admin and marketing, encouraging their friends and contacts to enter a team. We are there to help every step of the way, and make the whole event happen. We design and build the layout, providing all the traps, safety cages, clay pigeons and cordoned-off safety areas. During the event we are there to make sure everything runs smoothly and safely, and afterwards we clear all the equipment from the site.

We were able to leave the shooting side of things totally to them and the layout was designed perfectly for occasional game shooters to enjoy whilst challenging some superb clay shots’.
